We comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), the full text of which is available on the U.S. Copyright Office website: http://www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf.

We promptly respond to properly formatted notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA and applicable laws.

How to Submit a Copyright Infringement Notice

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied, used, or posted on BiographyUpdate.com.ng in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send us a written notice containing the following details:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorized to act on their behalf.

  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.

  3. Identification of the specific material that is claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to allow us to locate it (for example, a direct URL).

  4. Your contact information — including your full name, address, telephone number, and a valid email address.

  5. A statement confirming that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information provided in the notification is accurate, and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

How to Submit a Counter-Notice

If you believe that your content was removed or disabled by mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you may submit a counter-notice with the following details:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (full legal name).

  2. Identification of the content that was removed or disabled, along with the location where it appeared before removal.

  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled due to an error or misidentification.

  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address, along with a statement agreeing to accept service of process from the person who submitted the original infringement claim.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may send a copy to the original complainant and notify them that the removed material may be restored. Unless the original complainant files legal action within 10–14 business days, we may reinstate the content at our discretion.

Important: Submitting a false or bad-faith claim (either a DMCA notice or counter-notice) may lead to legal consequences, including liability for damages, in your country.

We reserve the right to remove content alleged to be infringing without prior notice, at our sole discretion, and in appropriate circumstances.
